CEI was retained to implement sediment remediation and site containment activities at a site contaminated with high levels of solvents. The scope of work included removal of RCRA hazardous, land disposal restricted TCE and PCE contaminated soil and sediment from a public waterway and surrounding areas and installation of vertical containment and horizontal cap.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Cleared 3.5 acres of woodland adjacent to residential properties
- Constructed and removed an 80’ long bridge with 150,000 lb weight limit
- Installed and removed over 1/4 mile of access roads
- Installed and removed 15,000 sf of temporary steel sheet pile
- Installed 48,000 sf of permanent Waterloo Sheet Piling with grouted interlocks
- Dredged and solidified and shipped 1,750 cy of hazardous waste sediment to Canada
- Capped the streambed with 400 tons of Aquablok
- Installed 60 mil HPDE liner
